Our Victorian Pineapple Soap Dish boasts petite pineapples that sits atop four dainty pedestal feet. Fill with cotton balls, potpourri or fancy soaps!

150-yd ball Knit Cro-Sheen, size 10 (Spruce)
Steel crochet hook size 8 USA (1.50 mm)

Molding Materials:
Commercial fabric stiffener
Plastic wrap
1 (5” dia) Styrofoam ball, cut in half
Rust proof pins
Polyester Fiberfil

Finishing Materials:
Glue

Finished Size: 5” in dia x 3” T
Gauge: 2 rows = ½”

Bowl:

Starting at bottom: ch 6; join with a sl st in first ch to form a ring.

Rnd 1) Ch 3 (counts as first dc), (23 dc) in ring; join with a sl st to first dc (3rd ch of beg ch 3): 24 dc.

Rnd 2) Ch 3, dc in next dc, ch 2; * dc in next 2 dc, ch 2; rep from * around; join with a sl st to first dc: 24 dc/12 ch 2-sps.

Rnd 3) Ch 3, dc in next dc, ch 3; * dc in next 2 dc, ch 3; rep from * around; join with a sl st to first dc: 24 dc/12 ch 3-sps.

Rnd 4) Ch 3, dc in next dc, ch 4; * dc in next 2 dc, ch 4; rep from * around; join with a sl st to first dc: 24 dc/12 ch 4-sps.

Legs: (Make 4)

Rnd 1) Ch 3; (8 sc) in 3rd ch from hook; join with a sl st in first sc: 8 sc.

Rnd 2) Ch 1, sc in joining, (2 sc) in next sc; * sc in next sc, (2 sc) in next sc; rep from * around; join with a sl st to first dc: 12 sc.

Rnds 3-7) Ch 1, sc in joining; * sc in next sc; rep from * around; join with a sl st in first sc: 12 sc.  Fasten off; secure ends after last rnd.

Finishing:

Wrap preferred work surface and Styrofoam ball half with plastic wrap. Stuff each leg with Fiberfill. Dip bowl and legs in fabric solution.  Gently squeeze out excess solution being careful not to twist or wring pieces.  Place bowl over inverted prepared Styrofoam half.  Straighten design and gently stretch, ensuring the bottom is an even distance from surface.  Pin in place; let dry.  Shape legs and place on covered surface to dry.

Remove pins and remove bowl from mold.  Glue legs to rnd 4 over every other 3rd set of 2 dc groups.
